The 2017 Swedish Open just finished with the Chinese dominating the event. However, Germans Timo Boll and Dimitrij Ovtcharov who have been in the recent World Cup and German Open finals by beating the top Chinese players, did not play.

The German Open featured an all-German final to be the second consecutive major international final to have Timo Boll and Dimitrij Ovtcharov face off. Ovtcharov may be #1 in the world soon. The 2017 West Coast Teams finished in Livermore this past weekend with about 30 teams and 70 players split into 4 different divisions. Many players told me they had a great time which I was glad to hear. Click picture for USA Table Tennis article:
This is a picture I took of current German Head Coach Jorg Rosskopf moments after winning the bronze medal in men’s singles at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics where I was doing stats and scorekeeping. His quarterfinal match where he beat Korea’s Kim Taek Soo for the first time 26-24 in the deciding 5th game was the most exciting match I’ve ever seen and the crowd gave a standing ovation at the end of the match. I was sitting courtside and working that match and I couldn’t stop shaking in the 2nd half of the 5th game.
