Chess Champions at Fremont TTA

Sibling chess champions Naveen Nath and Nitish Nath have started taking lessons at Fremont Table Tennis Academy. Older brother Naveen Nath was California State Champion for K-3rd Grade when he was in 3rd grade.

Younger brother 8-year old Nitish Nath is Northern and Southern California State Chess Champion for K-3rd grade and current national champion for the Under 8 Years category. Nitish also represented the US in the World Chess Championships last year in Batumi, Georgia in the Under 8 Years old category when he was 7. He was the second-best finisher among 7-year olds there.

Chess has the same rating system as table-tennis in the US. In chess, you are considered an Expert at a rating of 2,000, National Master at a rating of 2,200, and an International Master at a rating of, 2,400. Some Grandmasters have a rating of 2,400 and most Grandmasters have a rating of 2,500-2,700. World Championship contenders have a rating of 2,700+.
