DIVISION 1: (FULL RESULTS)

One match of note that just completed was PongSquad defeating Vaidun Brothers 4-1 despite US mini-cadet national team hopeful Rithwik Vaidun nearly recording 3 victories. Rithwik Vaidun recorded the lone win by upsetting clubmate and top FTTA junior Pranav Tantravahi of PongSquad 3-0. Rithwik also came close in the same match to upsetting another US mini-cadet national team hopeful, Mudit Mahajan of PongSquad, losing 3-1 with two games being lost at deuce. Along with older brother Rahul, they lost the doubles 11-8 in the decider.

The Edge Hitters have been eliminated from the playoffs despite some good wins. The regular season is not yet complete but the 4 teams that will make the playoffs will be PongSquad, The Hornets A, Vaidun Brothers, and San Jose.

Team O’Boll (named after former World #1 Timo Boll) lived up to their team name and has the #1 seed in the playoffs as they went undefeated in team record. Tarun Sankuratri and Arjun Ganesan only lost 1 singles match and 1 doubles match in the regular season. Arjun will also be now switching to the Timo Boll Spirit blade so his team name is very appropriate! Tarun Sankuratri, Arjun Ganesan, and Neel Dhavali of The Hornets B tied for the best singles record in the division so are Co-MVPs and the 3 members of the all-division team.

Middle School Girls (Rhea Ray, Trisha Dharmapuri), Horner (Aaditya Jadhav, Vikram Senthil), and Team Evergreen (Tejas Vaze, Aditya Sinnarkar) are all assured of playoff spots. The final playoff spot is between Wolfe Pack (Tanishq Dhavali, Apuroop Padamantinti) and  Epic Masters (Andrew Chen, Poorv Patil). If Epic Masters beats Challengers in their final regular season match, Epic Masters will make the playoffs. If Challengers wins, Wolfe Pack will make the playoffs due to their head-to-head win over Challengers earlier in the season.

Yajat Sharma of The Table Twins will be MVP of Division 4 with Aditya Pawar, Varun Mohanraj, and Bhavi Kenia of Topspin rounding out the All-Division Team.

Division 6 featured a lot of good young players who will be good tournament players one day. Pranav Sreeram of The Pros led all standings with a 5-0 team record, 10-0 singles record, and 5-0 doubles record and is the clear choice for MVP in this division. Ryan Chen of Future MVPs had the second best singles record at 8-2 and in a 3-way tie at 7-3 singles record, Arnav Beedu, Daksh Gorecha, and Karthik Sundar will all be on the all-division team.

Two players finished undefeated in the regular season, Hriday Shankar of Pong Typhoons and Suraj Pangal of SuperSmashBros. They never played each other as Suraj Pangal joined the team after the two teams played but it should be an interested match if they play in the playoffs. They both are Co-MVPs. Suraj’s partner, Suhaas Vemuri, finished at 9-1 and is on the all-division team. Thunderbirds and Ping Pong Rockstars still have to play in the final match of the regular season to determine the #3 and #4 seeds in the playoffs. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
