They are the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs and have made it to the Eastern Conference finals and just landed the #1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft.

The NBA draft order is partly determined by the luck of the bouncing ping-pong balls. They have largely Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to thank for giving them a championship and the #1 overall draft pick. They were key players (along with Ray Allen who came to watch table-tennis at the 2000 Olympics) that won the Celtics the 2008 NBA Championship and after Pierce and Garnett were traded to the New Jersey Nets, the Nets gave the Celtics this year’s draft pick which ended up being the #1 overall pick!
