The forehand topspin was the most common shot used by both women as expected. The second most common shot used by Ding Ning was the backhand topspin as compared to the backhand block for Zhu Yuling. Normally world-class table-tennis matches have an average rally length of 4-5 shots where as this match had an average of 7.6 shots per rally which is very high for high-level table-tennis! Another interesting thing to note is that Ding Ning, who is the only top female player to use the tomahawk serve, won a higher percentage of points when she used that serve as compared to her regular forehand serve.
