Ovtcharov had been winning most of their meetings in the major 2017 finals starting with the China Open and then also the World Cup and German Open.
The top Chinese players were present in the World Cup and German Open. The tables may have turned now as starting with the T2APAC league and now the Europe Top 16, Boll has won the finals meetings.
