Team World Cup-2020 Olympics Test Event-China vs Korea

The  Team World Cup took place recently in Tokyo, Japan at the same venue as next year’s table-tennis event at the Tokyo Olympics. China won both men’s and women’s team but the men’s team was severely tested by Korea in the men’s team final. (lsu79.org) The US teams reached the quarterfinals in both men’s team and women’s team and were recognized with Operation Gold awards by the USOPC (US Olympic & Paralympic Committee). There was one great match in the final between Korea’s Jeoung Youngsik and China’s Liang Jingkun. It’s interesting to note that both players’ backhands seem stronger than their forehands when traditionally, Chinese and Korean players have been mainly known for their forehands. The game has definitely evolved from 10-20 years back but even today, most Chinese and Korean players have better forehands. Here is the match:

2026 Fremont TTA Butterfly March Open tournament

The first tournament of 2026 hosted by Fremont Table Tennis Academy, the 2026 Fremont TTA Butterfly March Open, took place this past weekend featuring over 100 players battling it out in various age, rating, and open events. It took place at the usual nearby venue, the Siliman Center. The players to win multiple events were Ayaan Mohan (4 1st!) and Praful Bhaidasna (2 1st and 1 2nd). 2025 US Open

2025 US Open: Sid Medals, 7 5th Place Finishes or Better

Fremont Table Tennis Academy advanced students went to the 2025 US Open in Las Vegas, Nevada which featured 1300 of the best players in North America and some other top international players. The serious advanced students train year-round to try to perform well in these tournaments. Students to go were Mihika, Raghav, Anchit, Hasini, Isha, Smayan, Kavi, Siddanth, and Kethan.
