The fastest smash officially recorded in table-tennis is 72 mph. Fremont TTA has a leaderboard to have the fastest recorded smashes. Six kids have smashes recorded at 50 MPH or higher. 13-year Ryan Chen just got the fastest recorded smash ever at Fremont TTA with 54 MPH! As a note, adults have not tried to record their smash speeds or perhaps that FTTA record would be passed. Also, 6-time Olympic Medalist Dimitrij Ovtcharov got 75 mph in an unofficial recording. Considering that Ovtcharov is not known for his forehand power, my guess is other world-class players could get higher than 75 MPH.
