2025 Fremont TTA Butterfly October Open
The 2025 Fremont TTA Butterfly October Open took place this past Saturday, October 18 featuring close to 100 players. It will be the final singles tournament hosted by Fremont TTA of 2025 but there will be a 2-person team event, the 2025 Newark Butterfly West Coast Teams, on Thanksgiving weekend (Sat, Nov 29). Players battled all day for trophies, medals, rating points, and bragging rights! Players tor each multiple finals were Ruhaan Pukala (1st-U1600, 1st-U1300, 2nd-U1900), Dewei (Frank) Sun (1st-Seniors 50+, 2nd-Open Doubles), Arkaprabho Ghosh (2nd-U1600, 2nd-Open Doubles), and Ethan Alex (2nd-U50, 2nd-U25). 2025 Europe Smash: Hometown Hero Truls wins Unbelievable Match!
Sweden’s Truls Moregard, World #7 and double 2024 Olympics Silver Medalist, was voted Sweden’s most popular athlete last year by 50,000 votes to the nearest athlete. 2025 Fremont TTA Butterfly August Open tournament
The third tournament of 2025 hosted by Fremont Table Tennis Academy took place at our usual nearby venue, the Siliman Center in Newark, located 10 minutes from our main Fremont academy location. It featured the usual slate of events from Open Singles, rating events for all levels, and age events for juniors and seniors. Players to reach multiple finals were Jasmeet Bagga (1st-U700, 1st-U400), his son Samar (1st-U50, 2nd-U25), Sacramento’s James Therriault (1st-U2200, 2nd-Open Singles), and Viraaj Gaikwad (1st-Juniors 8 Years & Under, 2nd-U50)….
2025 US Nationals: Mathew Medals, Students Excel
Some of the Fremont Table Tennis Academy advanced students went to the 2025 US Nationals this past week in Ontario, California. Students to go were Michael, Saatwik, Yash, Anchit, Mathew, Hasini, Isha, Siddanth. Everyone except Saatwik and Anchit were playing their first US Nationals. Anchit and Saatwik were playing their second Nationals. Anchit won gold at last year’s Nationals in Alabama and Saatwik won 5th place. Overall, this tournament was a great experience for all warming up together, cheering the other teammates, and of course, facing off against the best players with everyone match presenting a new challenge….
2025 Newark Butterfly May Open tournament
The second tournament of 2025 hosted by Fremont Table Tennis Academy featured nearly 100 players from Santa Cruz to Sacramento battling at the great nearby venue, the Siliman Center. Players battled for rating points, trophies, and medals in the 16 events offered. There was Open Singles, rating events for all levels, junior events, and a seniors event. There were a number of multiple finalists in this tournament, more so than usual. Michael Ramirez was the only player to reach 3 finals winning the Under 1900 and Seniors 50+ Years and coming in 2nd in Under 2200!…
2025 Newark Butterfly March Open Tournament
The first tournament of 2025 hosted by Fremont Table Tennis Academy took place on Saturday, March 22 with record entries of about 100 players for a tournament at the Siliman Center. Players battled throughout the day in different events for trophies, medals, and rating points. Players to win multiple events were Daniel Simon (under 1900, under 1600) and Mathew Roshan (juniors 18 years and under, open doubles). The next two tournaments will feature the same slate of events. They will take place on Saturday, May 10 and Saturday, June 14 at the same venue, the Siliman Center….
2024 U.S. Open in Las Vegas
Fremont Table Tennis Academy advanced students went to the U.S. Open this past week at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. It was the first U.S. Open for nearly all the students who had a great experience playing with different styles and players from throughout the U.S. Players showed great team spirit and supported each other when their matches did not take place….
